Plagiarism Policy
Alfikr: Journal of Islamic Studies upholds strict standards against plagiarism and academic dishonesty. All submitted manuscripts are screened for originality before being considered for publication.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

Copying or closely paraphrasing another author’s work, ideas, or data without proper citation.

Reproducing text, figures, or tables from other sources without acknowledgment or permission.

Submitting one’s own previously published work as if it were new (self-plagiarism or duplicate publication).
2. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts submitted to Alfikr: Journal of Islamic Studies are checked for similarity using plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) before the peer review process begins.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references and quoted materials.

Manuscripts exceeding this threshold or showing evidence of plagiarism will be immediately rejected or returned to the author for revision.
3. Handling Detected Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected during the review or after publication:

The editor will contact the author(s) for clarification and explanation.

In severe cases, the article will be retracted and an official notice of plagiarism will be published on the journal’s website.

The author(s) may be blacklisted from future submissions to the journal.
4. Author’s Responsibility
Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited and that their work is original. They are fully responsible for obtaining permission to use any copyrighted material, such as figures or data, from other sources.
5. Ethical Commitment
By submitting to Alfikr: Journal of Islamic Studies, authors affirm that:

Their manuscript is free from plagiarism.

All data and quotations are properly acknowledged.

The work has not been submitted elsewhere for publication consideration.
